High Standard HD Problem
My HD will drop the hammer after each shot. You have to cock it after each shot. It is in good cond. and clean. Standard vel. or high vel.does not make any difference. anyone have this problem? thanks

Just a guess here; but it sound like warn parts (sear or hammer) or weak/broken spring??
Hang on,
Shouldn't be long before some who really knows what they're talking about comes along.[:D][:D]
I love my HD, but have never had the hammer fail to remain cocked until I pulled the trigger. That's a problem a younger and more stupid version of me created when I tried to lighten the trigger pull on my ACP back before I'd learned that were some things best left alone. By me anyway!0 -
Hello This could be a dangerous condition and may lead to your pistol going full auto until the magazine runs out of cartridges[xx(][:(!][V][:(] . The Fix could be as simple as GUNK on the small parts like trigger pull bar or sear return spring ETC . My suggestion is to take it to someone that knows older High Standard pistols. 0 -
The first things to check are the trigger overtravel screw for being too tight. Then I would check to see if the trigger/sear bar/ sear are sluggish from too much old oil that has turned to gum. 0
