s&w 4006 sights
I have a 4006,and the sights are not adjustble. Can i remove the rear sight and install an adjustble 1? In doing so the grove that is cut into the slide, is called what,bomar,novak. Or is there more,in witch im sure there is. If mine is diff. Witch 1 do I have and can i get 1 and were.

The slot the sight sits in is called a "dovetail".
Most standard Smith autos use sights designed by Novak, though other brands can work too.
Yes, you can put adjustable sights in your Smith, though you're probably just better off drifting the rear sight in your current gun so that you are on target and then leave it that way.
To move your sights you can use a special sight pusher tool (preferred way), or you can CAREFULLY tap tap tap them with a brass/soft headed mallet.
Fixed sights are used for a reason on most combat guns, and its because they are snag-resistant, simpler, and less likely to get knocked out of alignment.
Adjustable sights are really better used for target type shooting.0
