    Sure, sounds like it would work to me, or weld a bead to the side of the follower to make it wider.

    I'm guessing that your TG is either screwed in, or out, too far.

    I would try turning the front screw in or out.

    my dad has a sportered 03-a3 and had the same problem, i bought a new follower and changed the stock and still had the same problem.... always kicks out the last round

    I've found that a weak follower spring will cause cartridges to pop out of the magazine. Weak spring allows the follower to tilt and let the rounds slip past the side rail of the receiver.

    Seems to me the floorplate/triggerguard assembly is a little low. The stock may need wood relieved to allow the assembly to go up higher and fit tighter with the receiver. Remove the stock and reassembly the rifle with the triggerguard attached directly to the receiver. Try it this way and see if it solves the problem.
