i have a rifle that was sprotorized with a nice thumbhole stock. overall i like the rifle very much. it kicks like a mule but i fix that. only problem im having with it is it seems that when the guy made the stock for it, he screwed something up with the trigger guard. i replaced the magazine spring and follower. and it keeps wanting to spit live rounds up out of the mag well. it looks like the follower has to much room to either side and it cant hold the ammo down. i took the rifle apart and just messing with i found that layered duct tape in strips about 1/4 inch wide put on the left side of the magazine well holds it in place and makes it function 100% reliably. obviously i to put a more perminent fix on the rifle. it is all a one piece unit, the trigger guard has the mag well attached. will simply swapping this out with a new trigger guard fix my problem or do you think i need to modify the inside of the stock by glueing a piece of wood or metal in place of the duct tape? i can upload pics if needed it will just take a little bit.

    Sure, sounds like it would work to me, or weld a bead to the side of the follower to make it wider.

    I'm guessing that your TG is either screwed in, or out, too far.

    my dad has a sportered 03-a3 and had the same problem, i bought a new follower and changed the stock and still had the same problem.... always kicks out the last round

    I've found that a weak follower spring will cause cartridges to pop out of the magazine. Weak spring allows the follower to tilt and let the rounds slip past the side rail of the receiver.

    Seems to me the floorplate/triggerguard assembly is a little low. The stock may need wood relieved to allow the assembly to go up higher and fit tighter with the receiver. Remove the stock and reassembly the rifle with the triggerguard attached directly to the receiver. Try it this way and see if it solves the problem.
