Kennedy 44 Caliber CF RIfle
My dad has a Kennedy 44 cal rifle. No other markings. It is a very old lever action. I am trying to get some information on the gun such as age, history, manufacturer. Is anyone familiar with this gun?

The Kennedy rifle was made by the Whitney Arms Co. between 1879 & 1886, app. 15,000 made in various models and calibers.
It would be in your best interest to get hold of a copy of "Flayderman's Guide to Antique American Firearms". He has a chapter devoted to the arms made by Whitney, including the Kennedy. If in factory original condition, it could be worth a substantial amount of money.0 -
Thanks for the information. It is far from factory condition. It has seen a hard life from the looks of it. Is there someone that could put a value on it from looking at pictures? 0 -

Post the pictures, and if they are clear and distinct and show the rifle well, to include, the markings on the upper and lower tang, and barrel, we here at GB will try to help you. Also, provide a description of the inside of the receiver and the bore in terms of showing rust and pits. BTW, welcome! [:)]0
