It is definitely an overbore. Be careful when shooting not to get the barrel hot...it just goes away faster. When I do it again I will get the 6.5x284 rather than the 6x284.

In my neck of the woods, many shoot the 6X284 for 1000 yard matches. Says a lot about the 6mm bullet.

I have had excellent shooting with mine. Whether it be targets or hunting. Mine is on a pre-64 model 70 that I customized.

    fatbobcat,

What twist? I have one in 1-10" twist and I like it although it is abusive on the barrel. I run 95 gr. Bergers out at 3350 fps. I bought it used so the first thing to do was a barrel setback with it. It is quite a bit overbore as 5mmgunguy says. That said, if you want to get a heavy, high BC 6mm bullet to a target like a lazer, that is the case to do it with. I'm using H4350X and AA4350 and RE17 for my loads of anything from 85-95 gr. LD/VLD and 100 gr. spitzer.
