remington 1100 target barrel
what is the choke on a target barrel i didn;t know rem made one

I have never heard of an 1100 barrel for "target" shooting, either. If your target is clay birds, the the correct choke is either skeet for skeet shooting or full for trap. For sporting clays, it's best to have several choke tubes available. If you wish to enter the local shooting matches where the closest pellet to center wins, a full or extra full turkey choke should do best. Several of the contestants will probably have custom barrels designed for shooting an extremely tight pattern. 0 -
Back when I was shooting a lot more trap than I do now, Remington had a barrel with a stepped rib. Interchangeable on other 1100s, of course. I know they were made in Full choke for Trap, I don't know about a Modified or Skeet version. 0 -
Maybe it would help if you could explain where you saw the term "target barrel".

EDIT: OK, that's what I thought. But, I was confused by Sambo's question about choke. Remington refers to trap, skeet, sporting clays models as "target", as opposed to "field" for hunting. Trap barrels always have 2 beads, skeet have 1, & sporting clays, I don't know. Since Remington has always offered most barrels in a variety of length, rib, & choke, the answer to Sambo's question is, "It depends".0 -

i have a rem 1100 barrel marked (12ga 2 3/4"-target) on left side of the barrel, and rep in a oblong ciricle with a J right after it right at the reciever and marked reminton arms co ilion ny. on the right side of the barrel. vt rib with two beads and rem choke. eastbank. 0 -
