Sig 551 and Sig 556

I have a question. Is a Sig 551 lower compatible with a 556 upper, say a SWAT upper? If not, what modifications need to be made to make them work together?

NEVER EVER EVER even think about mutilating a 551, collecters will come back and haunt you if you do it..[:)], not kidding..
B&T, makes all the parts you need to make a 551 take all the same accessories that the 556 has.
