S&W M1899 Factory refurbish ???

S&W M1899 .38LC, literally perfect cond. Mrkd. top of bbl.: Smith & Wesson Springfield Mass. Pat'd July 1 '85 Apr 9 '89 May 21 '95 Aug 26 '96 Dec 22 '96 Oct 4 '98 - Bottom of butt: USN, anchor, .38DA, triangle with B inside, No. 918, C.A.B. - Front grip strap: Ser. # 59xx, this # on cyl. face and bot. of bbl. - There is a five pointed star with I inside on cyl. face, bot. of bbl. near ser. # and on frame where crane closes. - On frame where crane closes there is a # spaced thus 4 1 45, this # also on inside of crane arm. I've tried other places and cannot get concise info on what all these mkngs. mean or VALUE. Some say star and triangle mean fac. refurbish, others say different. The blue is incredible rich deep blue and the checkered wood grips look and fit superb. CAn anyone really provide complete information?? Would love to send pics. but I am total neophite with comp. I don't understand directions, heck; I've heard the term but I have no idea what 'paste' is or how to do it! Sorry!
