1911 conversion
Does anyone make a 9 mm conversion for the full size smith and wesson .45?

No.
Edit: While its possible to convert a .45 1911 to 9mm luger, this is generally NOT as simple as just swapping uppers. I'll leave the technical details of what's involved to those who've tried or done it.0 -
Hello S&W has made a number of different types of pistols that shoot a 45ACP. If this is the 1911 type clone then aftermarket parts like those from FUSION may fit . You would need a 9MM complete slide with sights firing pin ETC a 9MM barrel a 9MM recoil spring and you would need to either replace the Ejector that is pinned to your frame or you may be able to modify an ejector to work with both slides.I have one frame that will shoot 6 or 7 different cartridges but you must remember the frame to slide fit will not be very tight so group sizes will not be MATCH grade. 0 -
If you can find one of the ultra-rare Colt 9mm Conversion Units (Colt Model O3009), it presumably could be used to convert a 1911-pattern Smith & Wesson to 9x19. 0
