over the past 3 months-ive had a gunsmith playing games with my sks he only had to mount a scope i gave him the scope and mounting kit to shorten the story i picked up my rifle today i ordered a new mount from gunbroker it was paid by credit card and i recieved it in 3 days excellent response from seller i ordered a chinese mount i mean i won my bid the part was so easy to install it only took a little filing an cleaning and it was installed im going to the range sunday to sight it in if you are having trouble mounting a scope on a norinco rifle buy the extra dust cover fom thi auctions list and it will only take a few minutes instead of 3 months hank

That's why you don't go to a gunsmith to have a scope mount installed. If you need to have holes drilled and you are not handy with power tools then go ahead. If you don't know how thats why they have books and dvd's. 0 -

In general, the top/action cover SKS mounts tend not to hold a zero very well.
The best way to mount a scope on an SKS is to use a side-receiver mount, but that requires not only drilling and tapping the receiver, but it may require removing some wood from the stock.0 -
Take the time to put a Choate scope mount on your SKS.I have yet to see a dust cover mount that worked well. 0 -
