Legal to ship
There was a lady at UPS today that said a friend had loaned her a pistol and wanted to ship it back. She didn't have an FFL, he didn't have a FFL, she was shipping it interstate. She said she had checked it out and it was ok to do...can she legally do it?

I belive interstate it is legal to do. It is considered a FTF transaction. 0 -
Face to face has nothing to do with it. It not legal for an unlicensed person to transfer a firearm to a resident of a state other than the state in which the person making the transfer lives. The only way it can legally be done is to will the person the firearm then die.

It is legal to ship firearms to yourself, but this is not the case in this situation so that rule does not apply. This is not the General Discussion Forum so lets stay on track here and deal with the actual questions rather than going off in different directions.0 -
A local basketball player shipped a handgun to a friend in another state under similar circumstances a year ago. He is currently serving a 2 year sentence in a federal facility.
Hopefully this lady won't get caught. The fellas with the bulges in the cheap suits do not play games.
