measuring chamber length

    Remember the shell that has a star crimp will get longer when fired all of this extra shell needs to go into the full diameter Chamber NOT the forcing cone.

    It would be better if you used either a telescoping ID gauge/tool or a set of inside dividers. Set either .010" less than the chamber ID and insert it into the chamber until it stops. Note the distance on the tool & measure it. The chamber on my 12ga Stevens 620 is a little over 2 3/4" which is the length of a fired 2 3/4" shell. The 620 is not marked either & I don't know how the Ser #s run, but it's U555xx if that helps.
