I came accross a Rem. 44-40 pump action rifle cleaning out my in-laws house. There is no model number stamped on the barrel, but everything matches the model 14.5. It probably is in about 60-70% shape. Anybody know how old and what something like this is worth? Any info would be much appreciated. Thank You, Ernie.[?] 0 -
YOU HAVE TOO MUCH COMPUTER TIME[:D], THAT IS A M-14 1/2, IN .44/40 PROBABLY ABOUT $800 0 -
And for the other half of your question, manufactured 1912 to 1935.

And if you look on the LEFT side of the barrel just in front of the receiver, you MAY see 2 or 3 letters, which, if there, is the key to year/month the barrel was made. Google Remington BLACKPOWDERX for the chart to interpret the letters. For rifles, the date of the barrel is usually close to date of the rifle. Shotguns not always so. 0
