browning hi power holster??
purchased a lot from an old gunshop-gent passed on to where no gun control needed, thank god-- holster is black leather with a slot for extra magazine, 2 belt loops on back, uses the brass stud through hole in flap--has a pull up leather strap in the interior of holster with unusual knot to keep strap from coming through-as number 31115 on the back stamped between the belt straps--there is a faint bluish green circle on the inside of the flap. the only reason I listed as browning high power-found a sticker in bottom of holster that had bee there for a long time. Can you help with 1. is this re production for wwII and does it have any collector value bucksnort

It would be best if you could post quality photos, of the holster. That said, bunch of BHP's with holsters were imported as surplus in the 60's/70's time frame. They came in from West Germany and Austria, many of the holsters were similar to your description. Looked like the ones the krauts used during WW II. But they were definitely made after the war, for the Austrians & West Germans. 0 -
Possible W German police. My Walther P-1 and PP holsters are like that and both were police tradein's. 0 -
East German VOPO also used Lugers in the Cold War period.
Its a Luger style holster except for a missing loading tool pouch.
The round, blackened indent in the cover over the magazine would tend
to support that.
Additionally, the bottom of a HiPower holster would be much larger than a Luger holster due to a big difference in muzzle size.
A full view of the whole holster would help.0 -

Holster is a Post War West German made and issued holster for the Browning Hi Power. # on the back is the Serial # to the Pistol. These Holsters were issued to the Newly Formed LandesPolizei (State Police) Created in 1951. The Star Model B holster was similar in design. just that the straps face the other way and magazine pouch was thinner. I have had many of both. some are marked LPN as were the pistols. The LPN = LandesPolizeiNiedersachsen (State Police Lower Saxony). 0 -
hunter1673..........Kurjak1 has nailed it. Postwar WGerman production with nil collector value. Worth? $50 tops. Now the real deal with the correct Nazi markings begin at twice that to $300+. 0
