When was the s/s model 70 ultimate classics offered? sure there was usra's make just would like a time frame.in particular a 280 rem. s/s model

If you are referring to the Model 70 Classic Ultimate Shadow, I believe it was like 2004-2006. I have one in 25 WSSM that is Stainless, with synthetic stock, that has overmolded grip panels. It was made in early 2005, and fire saled because they were not selling. Then the price sky rocketed when they closed the plant.
The actual model 70 Classic, has the pre-64 Mauser type claw extractor, with the controlled round feeding.

This is what I found. It was out of the Custom Shop, and was a limited build offering, or special order. I figured as much when I seen the inletted sling swivels, and steel grip cap.
