1894 winchester

Will the bolt out of a 1894 made in let's say 1920? fit in one made in 1895? And are they different for each cal.?

    Hello,
    I have a model 1894 Winchester carbine with the stam 30 W.C.F. I have never fired the weapon and would like to know its value. It has a saddle ring knob on the side opposite the loading sleeve. This lever action is a good looking item with the serial number # 842015. Can you tell me anything about it and the types of ammo recommended for it.

    Winchester Model 1894 serial number 125309 was manufactured in that latter half of the year 1901. It was most likely received in the Warehouse from the Assembly Room in October of 1901.

    I am unable to access the pictures from my office computer, but will try from my home PC later this afternoon.

    I'm afraid with that barrel marking you have a late barrel on an early Model 94, if the serial number is 125309. That marking didn't come along until up around the 1,000,000+ serial number range I believe.

    The barrel was manufactured sometime between April of 1932 to early 1950 (circa serial number 1082400 or later). If you want to know the exact year, remove the forend stock and magazine tube and look for the 2-digit year number stamp on the bottom of the barrel right next to the receiver frame.

    To sum it up, that Model 1894 is a "Frankenchester"... a piece parts gun.
