Line through rod...

Friend of mine just showed me an old rod-n-reel combo his g-pop gave him. The line comes off the baitcasting reel and goes THROUGH the entire length of the rod blank.Tied on a little 1oz. weight and tried casting a few times.Worked like a charm.
Y'all ever seen or fished with one?

  Theres a fairly new rod out called, I think the Sidewinder. The line is totally enclose like the one your talking about. Can you get some pics.?

  I have seen them before. I would worry about the line wearing on the rod blank when the rod is bent with a fish.

  I got one from Cabelas several years ago , I'm sure they still sell them. They were called Innercast I believe and they worked pretty good...bull

  I've got one that I've used for a few years now. It's my "cast under docks and piers" rod, and it works great.
