both the target sealed 8 and the model 55A target are able to handle 22 short, 22 long and 22 long rifle.

the newest edition of the iver johnson book title "iver johnson's arms & cycle works 1981-1993" has parts drawing only. the reason your book and the newest edition has no serial numbers for the model 55A is the ATF has made it almost impossible to obtain. the new edition also does not has serial numbers for this model but does has more information on all post WWll models even the second model target sealed 8 model.

on the target sealed 8 and the model 55A does not have a side plate and every thing is held in place by the thru pins in the frame. every thing is removed from the bottom of the frame except for the hammer, which come out after removing the hammer spring and hammer screw from the top. revolver mechanism built this way are simple to take apart but are sometimes hard to to put back together.

Thanks for the info Bill. Know anything about the shotguns? I need an extractor for a 28 gauge Champion single shot. I can't find one anywhere. Thanks, Ted
