    Get a set of Burris Signature rings & inserts. They will give you a lot of adjustements with different degree inserts.

    Another method is to use a base that is windage adjustable. It would be faster, easier and better than trying to machine your mount. Leupold makes these as do several others.

    The Burris rings are great but might not get you the exact alignment you're looking to achieve.

    Be sure that you're in the optical/mechanical center before starting any changes.

    I had the same problem with a Savage 99. I fixed the problem quick, easy, and cheaply (about $30) with a set of Millet Angle Lock windage adjustable rings.
