spotting scope

hello; what's the best spotting scope on the market with 60 power for the money? aprox $200.oo thanks rick

    Reccomendations on a new spotting scope please. Around $1,000. I'm upgrading for an Oregon sheep hunt. THX HAWKSHAW

    Of course a nice spotting scope would be better, but if your usual distance is only 100 feet, a good pair of binoculars could work.

    A 20X scope with a 50mm objective lens would not give a very bright image.

    You could just use a Cheap Rifle scope of 14 power or more that has bad crosshairs or would not hold ZERO. this will give you longer eye relief and at 100 feet be good enough.

    You are talking about a rifle scope not a spotting scope

    Why would you need a spotting scope at a distance of 33 yards???
    As Beantownshooter says a pair of binoculars would be more functional or am I missing something here.

    You can find cheap spotting scopes that will pick up a .22 cal bullet hole at 100 yards.
    I would opt for some 8x50 or 10x50 binoculars for this purpose. They would probably cheaper and quicker to use than a spotting scope.

    An 8 or 10 x binocular would be more than you need. Probably pick up a pair for $35.

    I would have a large 36" paper behind card to get full patern. I agree on the binocs...8 power.

    Harbor Freight. The American Rifleman and American Hunter magazines have a coupon for a spotting scope from them. $39.99, scope is 20-60x 60 mm, with a tripod. Yes, it is a cheap scope. What do you expect for $39.99?

    I know what you are looking for, but am not sure the image quality of that much of a budget minded spotting scope would work for you. If you are going to have a lot of shooters and are glassing over a period of time, then you could get severe eye-strain headaches. I think a better $200.00-300.00 Nikon or Burris would work better...or someone have a target boy/girl to run down and get the cards to bring them back to count pellet holes would be the cheapest...
