11-87 experts (one gas port??)
I recently purchased a used 11-87. It came in the box and looks like it has been used very very little. It has the key thingy to disengage the safety, so I assume it was made 8 -10 years ago.
When I got it home I cleaned it up I noticed that it only has 1 gas port. All my other gas operated shotguns have 2. Is this normal??

my 11-87 has 2. I just checked but its a 3inch. Per chance do you have the 3 1/2 inch 0 -
Yes mine is a super magnum. 0 -
that would explain it I believe 0 -
Only 1 hole. 0 -
it means that your 11-87 will only fire/cycle magnum loads. it will not cycle short brass anything unless you purchase a dual port barrel. fyi.....keep the gas system clean and you shouldnt have any problems. best 0 -

Not true, my fathers super mag only has 1 gas port and will fire and cycle anything you put trough it, field loads, trap loads etc.......0 -
I got rid of a mossberg 935 to get the 11 87 super mag. Hoping for a little more reliability. 0
