Didn't someone ask here about a value for a model 70 250-3000 awhile back? If this sells or not then you will get an idea.

I paid 1700 for my 1947 standard in .250-3000 a few years ago. I don't think it's all origional, though--IIRC it has a pre-war barrel. 0 -

I am skepticle because of a few things, first being I have never seen a M70 barrel without the words model 70 on it. Second if you look at the words trade mark they look un-level and the mark on the right of it is crooked and bluing looks wrong.. Look at the font where the arrow is, it is a font that I have never seen on a Winchester. the wood to metal fit at the clover leaf of the reciever is terrible,and The checkering looks to be 20lpi, and that was over in 1941. Also, if this guy is such an avid collector of 70's, why get rid of this gem? Like has been said, there are probably more fakes than the real thing.
The only thing that puzzles me is that if someone were going to conterfiet a barrel, why would they do such a poor job????
Here is a legit barrel on a 1947 super grade 250-3000.
Looks like 20 lines per inch checkering, this was done away with in 1941 6 years before this gun.
Wood to metal fit is bad.0 -

I haven't commented yet, but I tend to agree with you, especialy the wood to metal fit and the color of the barrel. I'm thinkin some one "invented" this one, these are scarce as honest poloticians.
