For the old guys of the '60's

I wish I could find information on the 129gr RN Speer bullets probably mfg. in the '50's and '60's for the 6.5mm (.264" dia.) Seems there were but can't verify it . I know Hornady made them

    Bryson, I guess I'm one of the "old guys" you're refering to. I started reloading in 1958 with Herter's tools (remember them?). My oldest Speer reloading manual is dated 1956 and I also have some from the 60's and 70's. I can find no mention of 129 gr. 6.5 bullets in any of them. If they made them, one would think they would certainly have listed load data for them in their manuals and, since they didn't, the bullets probably didn't exist; Sorry.

    I enjoyed our phone conversation of the other evening and I hope that the weather improves for you and you throw off the effects of your pneumonia so you can get out shooting again. Sometimes that takes awhile so don't get discouraged. Gettin' old ain't for sissies, is it? Warren

    thanks Ambrose, appreciate the info . I started loading in 1950, same old Herters equipment and have ever since, enjoying every minute of it . I don't know what it's like to go to the gun shop and buy a box of bullets, espically at todays prices. Appreciate those 270 -150gr RN'ers, good brush hunters up here in NW pennsylvania for bear.

    I am an old guy, but the closest I ever got was tying flies commercially on a Herter's vise. Wish I still had that one.

    When I'm trying to research ANY firearms, ammunition, firearm-related items, first place I head for is the young lady's website who has the huge selection of reprinted catalogs, advertising material, etc., for firearms from all over the world. If she's got it, your search is over.

    Nice thing about her service is that if you can't find it quickly from her website you just drop her an email explaining what you're looking for and she'll immediately let you know if she's got it and how much.

    I've seen her items advertised on GunBroker.com.

    I have an older 60's SPEER Manual...it list an 87,120 and 140 all spitzers! The Speer manuals that are newer only list 120 and 140 spitzers for the .264 bullet.
