A firing pin in most cases, is not something that should just be plug and play. It is something that should be fitted, to make sure you do not get a pierced primer. Not one person I know enjoys a pierced primer. I would take this to a qualified gunsmith to FIT one for you.

    ar15ak74,

I guess I have to ask why you need a firing pin for a Raptor in the first place? You don't have to answer and it won't help you get a proper answer but things like firing pins rarely have to be replaced in the modern world.

As to answering your question about compatibility, I would rather rely on the folks at Mossberg to give you a reliable answer:

    O.F. Mossberg & Sons Inc.
    7 Grasso Ave., Dept. GWK
    North Haven, CT 06473
    phone: 203-230-5300
    on-line: www.mossberg.com

If the Customer Service person hesitates or just plain doesn't know (most likely) keep asking for the next higher up until you get the expert that will answer the question.

    Best.

I have only had one firing pin break. It was in a brand new Parker Hale 7mm Magnum back in the very late 60's or early 70's. The rifle was shooting just fine. I didn't even know there was a problem until I pulled the bolt to clean it and a small piece fell out. It was the very end of the firing pin. A new pin was ordered from Birmingham, England. I have no clue as to when it broke but my best guess would be one the last shot.

I am looking for it for someone else. I am not sure what happened to the original one. I will try and give mossberg a call later today. Thanks
