Remington sportsman 48SC
My Father asked me to find out what this gun is worth because he received it as partial payment for a job many years ago and has never shot it. It is marked 12ga sportsman 48SC and has really nice wood like this was a better model or something. it has two barrels both vent rib and one has something like a poly choke on it. and it came in a leather box case that has separate compartments for the barrels and the action.He has had offers of $200 just for the case even though the straps are dry rotted and need replaced but he wants to sell it together since he got it that way.

sell it on the auction side, take some good pictures and start it at $100 w/NO reserve. you will get exatly what it's worth (I'll guess about $500 as discribed) 0 -
This gun 's marking '48 SC indicates that it is/was a better grade Sportsman '48 skeet gun which had nicer finish and much upgraded wood from the standard Sportsman 48.
I have a 20 ga. sportsman '58 SC made in about 1961. It had a better finish than the standard skeet gun and spectacular wood. It was bought when the 1961 National Skeet Championships (I think that's right) were held at the old Princess Anne Gun Club in Virginia Beach.
I'd guess that it would bring a little more that Mike suggests, maybe $600 or so considering the hard case and extra barrel.

Sometimes people will read about a gun there and bid on it even if they weren't looking for one. As good as your gun sounds, it should attract some attention, be sure to take good pictures. 0
