Colt Match Target Tactical Elite

I have the opportunity to buy a colt match target tactical elite. This would be my first AR style gun. I was told its some what of a rear gun. I can get the gun for a $1000. I just cant any information on it. The gun has been fired but I would say it's 95%. Thumbs up or thumbs down? Thanks for any help. [?]

    For a $1000 I'd buy it. Many of the non Colt AR's are still selling at $1000 or more. Does this one come with the scope if so it is even a better deal.

    It takes a fair amount of wear/abuse to lose 5% of the finish of any gun, except for a carry gun. You don't know how to evaluate it, & you didn't post photos for us; it's the classic "pig in a poke". That's too much money to take a chance on.

    Unless you can have it looked over by a gunsmith, I'd pass. For $1K, you can get an AR that's exactly the way you want it, New In Box, & with a lifetime warranty.

    slabjacker....I agree with nmyers...without photos hard to tell what you are buying. Having said that, I have a Colt Match Target and love it. Bought it new and it has never failed me. I got it several years ago and paid new about what you are being asked to pay used but w/o photos hard to tell rather or not you are getting a "deal." Good shooting!

    HI, I'm not an expert. However they made an HBAR elite and a Match target Tactical Elite. They are not the same gun and the one you mentioned I feel is a more expensive model and the price sounds right. Maybe a Colt lover will come along and clear things up.
