BAR Question

I was wondering if a Browning BAR hunting rifle will take the old WWII BAR magazines, or are they incompatable?

What part of a BAR constitutes the machine gun? Is it the receiver? Is it legal for us commoners to possess all other parts except the receiver? TIA for any input.

OK thanks. I was wondering because I can find WWII BAR mags but not the modern ones which is what I need.

There are early and later versions. Describe the year made, caliber, serial #.

Don't know its for a friend, he bought it yesterday and brought it over last night, and I dropped the mag in my driveway. We couldn't find it last night I found it this morning after I had run it over.

I got a new one from a local dealer thanks guys.
