Remington 700
I have a Remington 700 sps tactical chambered in .308. Does anyone make a detachable magazind system for ths and any comments on the quality. Thanks

I was at a gun shop today and was looking at a remington 700. It was a BDL in 270. It was totally parkerized and appeared to have a mcmillan (or similiar) stock with a cheek piece. Was this a special model or is it just customized aftermarket. What would you think is a good price for this given it is in decent condition.(handling marks but no rust or damage)I have not seen a gun like this before.
Any info would be great

It's not extremely rare at all. There were quite a few of them made when Remington was calling that round the 7mm Express. It's a marketing thing as you may well know.
IMO, the rifle marked and in the caliber it is can bring as much as $500. Do a search on the auction side and see what they bring. I don't remember if Remington made this as one of their classics or not. If so it might be a little more unusual and bring maybe $100-$200 more. But that is for a mint rifle.
A little background if I may with Remington 700's. They are excellent rifles made for the everyday shooter. The action itself is really what is prized with them as it is simple and easy to make consistently accurate. A lot of high end clones copy the 700 in one way or another. The problem is Remington made a ton of them. And, they still do. Which IMO is a good thing. These actions and barrels will be around for a long time to come. Which to the shooter like me is good. To the collector. The price will only hold it's own. It won't increase. I imagine if Remington ever quit making the 700, the prices might double in as little as a month. Until then... we 'shooters' will remain happy.0 -
