remington model 1911

trying again to get info on this remington model 1911 it was made by remington umc in bridgeport conn. it has the circle with remington umc in it. patented dates of dec.19 1906 and feb 14th 1913. has united states property on it has initals at trigger well eef it has a 5 didget serial number on it 21218 the pistol is in real good shape and shoots great. it still has the same hand grips on it and they are not chipped or cracked. the blueing is gone but there is no rust on it. thanks 2peanuts emile add. roncooksr@msn.com[?]

    You do not have a M1911 Remington UMC; you have a M1911 Colt with a Remington UMC slide. We know that because the frame (which IS the gun) has a serial number in the range produced by Colt in 1913.

    It sounds like you have a nice shooter, but a mixed parts gun with no finish is of no interest to collectors.

    Hello Remington UMC was first World war production and completely different from WW II Remington Rand . your pistol was made 1919 the letters EEC are the inspector marks of Major Edmund E. Chapman Ordnance Reserve Corps . should also have an Eagle's head / The barrel should have a P either on top of chamber or on the bottom Right barrel lug. the slide may have either one or 2 lines of print on right side Total production of Rem. UMC is 21,676 pistols. so in the big picture not that many made Value with out detail in focus close up pictures would be a wild Guess.

    EDIT Neal I think if you check you will find this IS a REM.UMC they had the same numbers as some of the WW I colt frames. not like WW II pistols that had BLOCKS of serial numbers assigned to different makers.
