J.Stevens shotgun
I just received a side by side shotgun from my uncle but can't find anything out about it. It says J.Stevens A&T C2. Made in Chickopee MA. Patent applied for. It has 4411 stamped in various places. It has the Damascus steel barrel. I was wondering how old it might be, how much it might be worth, ect?

The marking "J.Stevens A & T CO." was used from 1886 to 1916. Being your shotgun has Damascus barrels it probably dates before 1910. This was because of the higher pressures of smokeless powder ammo, that weren't compatible with Damascus barrels.
Chances are very good that your shotgun is at least 100 years old. Because of the danger of firing modern ammo in Damascus barrels, these shotguns are mostly used as "Wall Hangers" or conversation pieces. Value is almost totally based on cosmetics. My WAG depending on condition $20 - $300?. Because it a U.S. made Stevens, it would likely bring more money the the more common run of the mill Belgian hammer gun.0
