Identifying random .30-06 cartridges
What is the best method you might suggest to identify the bullet size of random 30-06 cartridges?
I have some that were not in a marked box and I don't know if they are 165 gr., 180 gr. or 220 gr.
I purchased an accurate scale to compare the full weight of each cartridge.
I do have a full box of 150 gr. that weigh 400 gr. on the scale so identifying 150 gr. bullets is a no brainer, but what should the others weigh compared to the 150 gr.?

the ONLY way is to pull the bullet, case weight (different brands/lots) & powder charge can vary by more than 15 gns. 0 -
While not completly accurate, you could sort by headstamp and total weight, and that pull 1 bullet from each group (assuming you have a mixed lot).
IIRC most factory 220's (and 200's for that matter) are a RN design, if that is of any value)0
