Vintage Aimpoint
I picked up three old Aimpoints from my father. Two were on a .22 pistols and one on a 1911. Can't find any info on them or what batteries they may take. The site is fixed to a base mount that looks to have all the adjustments in the base. A toggle switch looks to turn it on and off.
Bottom shows "Made in Sweden" and has what looks to be a serial number 1191249xx
I can't find what batteries they take to see if they work or not. Anyone see one of these before????

First Model they ever made back then you had to be VERY strong to hold up a pistol with one of these mounted on it . Do you know if he ever shot at Camp Perry sounds like he was a serious shooter. I have records & scores of all shooters 1972-2005 do yourself a favor and dismount from pistol and don't try to use them Battery life was the pits the cost was $$$for them & the red dot did not have well defined edge. 0 -
I collect the old aimpoints I have 2 like you have one new in the box the other on my 45 works well.I will get you the batterys no.tomarrow the batterys are made in china now and lots of them avaiable.

If you plan on using these do not use them on heavy recoiling handguns. If I remember right they had a spring between the base and the body. I had a couple of these on a Thompson Center Contender in .357 Herrit. That gun literally broke those early Aimpoints in half. At that time they were located in Herndon, VA. I don't know if they still are. 0 -
