Barrel length, type and condition of grips, finish, serial number, original box and papers, actual condition of weapon and related items, lots of good, clear, closeup photos, Colt letter?, etc... All of these will be necessary to give a value to this revolver.

Its like saying " I got a 68 Corvette, real clean, owned by a car guy, whats it worth.

    Ginny,

We really are trying to help you. There is a sticky at the top about posting photos. If you have the other information you can post it here like this.

    Colt Python
    MFG 1976
    Serial #: XXXXXXXX
    Original box and paperwork
    4" barrel
    Blued Finish
    Colt Wood Grips
Has cylinder turn line but no other noticeable wear
Grips have no scratches or nicks
Does not have a Colt letter

Without clear, closeup pictures, you are probably not going to get much of an answer about value. You might try to search the completed auctions and see what similar Pythons have gone for.

this scenario sounds very similar to a deal i run into, Colt Python 4" brl. made 1965ad, owned by a former LEO.., $450.00 plus S&H thru auction side of Gun Broker, this was about 5 years ago.
