H&R 1212
Hi, I have an H&R model 1212 O/U 12ga. 30 inch Barrels 3 inch chamber. I think I am having a problem with it, but not sure. When shot one time, the barrel selector does not automatically mover over so the next barrel can be shot. You have to move the selector that is on top of the safety over manually to shoot the other barrel. My question is: Is it suppose to automatically adjust over so you can shoot twice with out hesitation or do you always have to move the selector over yourself ?

The shift from barrel to barrel should be automatic and internal.
That is, you should not have to move the selector, but you will not see it move by itself. The selector position is supposed to just control which barrel fires first.
Does this happen when actually firing the gun? Many single triggers are reset by recoil and won't operate dryfire.0 -
It happens when fired with live shells. I will break it down and give it a cleaning and try some more. I has been in storage for a good while. 0 -
Got her cleaned up and oiled down and got all the parts in good working order. Re-assembled and still, only shot one barrel and had to switch over to the next one manually. Decided to do open heart surgery on her and found a broke rocker spring and missing rocker follower. Placed an order for the parts and will check again when the new parts arrive and it is re-assembled. 0 -
