Sorry,
I don't have the 17.
But, I do have the 22 WMRF, and I absolutely love it!!
Not a great trigger, othwerwise, it is an excellent pistol.
Function, fit and finish, accuracy great.
Since I put the Leupold VX-III on it. It is a varmints worst nightmare.
I think you would be comparably happy with a 17 as well.

I have the .22 Mag. and it won't feed 30 grain bullets reliably.Does fine with the 40 grain .I wonder about the 17 grain .17 HMR.I've been unable to reach Excel by phone or E-mail. Their customer service is ? Replacement recoil springs are unavaiable.

I have had no problems feeding the 30 grain ammo with mine.
I can mix and match within the magazine, and it eats anything I throw at it without complaint.

It is a Leupold VX-III. 2.5-8 x32.
Great scope, but expensive!
