    When was it made...........wow if truly unaltered (Bluing looks real good[;)]) Hope ya steal It, I paid 1900 for a complete un altered gun circa pre-1900. with very little case hardening remaining. Bert said It was very reasonable, Hope it works out for ya man would love to see your collection some day.

    You were not kidding about the quality of the pictures. I sure wish people were better at understanding the limitations of most digital cameras.

    It would help to know what the serial number on that Model 1886 Sporting Rifle is (pre-1899 or post-1898), as that has an effect on the value.

    The missing rear sight is an automatic $300 deduct. That said, if it truly has not been fooled with, and it has a very good bore, it is worth at least $2500 in that caliber. If it turns out to be an Antique (serial number <118647), you can add another $500 to that.
