Browning Double Automatic aluminum receiver

The underside of the aluminum receiver has numbers; A10 (above) and
962 (below) Browning 12 gauge shotgun
Am I correct [:p] with a 1960 date of manufacture and serial # 962.
This one has two barrels in a leather Browning case and nice blonde wood. The barrels are * Full Choke and **$ Skeet.
Can you tell me how many were made in aluminum and
how many were made in steel?
Were the aluminum receivers available in more than one color?
This one is the grey annodized.
I have seen the black ?? Is that also aluminum or is that the steel receiver?

    These were made from 1952 to 1971. The "standard" Double Auto had a steel receiver. The Twelvette and Twentyweight used hiduminum (aircraft industry alloy) receivers. Fjestad's Blue Book says total production was 67,000 but I don't know the split between steel and alloy recievers. Most of the ones I've encountered have been alloy. Supposedly the alloy receivers came in blue, grey, maroon red, light brown, green, gold, jet and dragon black. Most of those I've seen have been black or grey. I have several of these and they're fun to shoot and will usually draw some attention at the gun club as they don't show up on the skeet and sporting clays ranges very often. I've used a Twentyweight for bird hunting too and found it comfortable to carry and quick to point on rising birds. Neat old guns although I don't know that there is much demand or collector interest. Please let us know if you decide to list it on the auction side.
