Also, can anyone tell the value of this pistol.. It is in mint condition, the slide has never even been slid since it left the factory.. It is in the factory case with all the factory paperwork. 0 -
In 1996, for the 20th anniversary of IPSC, Colt produced a 1911 in 3 different grades. 1500 of the Standard model were produced, 500 of the Tactical model were produced and only 50 of the Deluxe firearms were ever manufactured. The Deluxe had an engraved blue slide with white and yellow gold inlays and Bomar sights. The stainless steel frame had a checkered magazine well, checkered magazine release, memory groove grip safety and African Ivory grips with the IPSC medallions installed. Due to some kind of problem between Colt and the Distributor that handled this project, very few of the Deluxe models actually got the Ivory grips, most were sold with checkered wood.

thank you..!
On the factory box mine calls out " Superior Tactical Model " it is serial # 0001DVC.. It is Royal Blue with gold inlay on both sides of the slide. I have several, what I would call "collector guns", but this is my only Serial # 1.0 -
I cant seem to figure out how to post pics in the forum.... My pistol is very different from either one posted above.. 0 -

Hello Thanks spider for posting pictures I did not want to register to see them . I think the pistol that Mr. KWcole has is the Mid grade one of the 500. not the standard model one of 1500 and also not the delux model one of 50 . Nice pistol if this is what floats your boat
and serial #1 will help. I just am not into guns that lose 1/2 their value if you ever fir one shot0
