mauser 98 shotgun conversions
what do the "experts" know about the converted mauser98's to shotguns.?

a bunch of them have been made the bolt has a snap on head to support the 16Ga. shell head don't fire with this bolt head not in place. These conversions don't bring big bucks but are not bad as conversions go. 0 -
these were made after ww 1 in 12, 16, and (I'm told, never seen one) 20 ga. they are OK as shooters. Like perry said, make shure the bolt head is in place. the only thing holding it in place is the extractor (and a couple of good intensions). Most were called either GEHA or REMO. 0 -
My GEHA 12 ga is a very good shooter. It holds 1 in the mag and 1 in barrel. Due to their light weight, they kick like a mule with field loads. 0 -

The Treaty of Versailles prohibited the Germans from manufacturing "weapons of war" which included rifles, but not shotguns. In order to keep the production lines open and the skilled workers employed they manufactured (not converted) these shotguns. 0 -
