Class 3 C&R

I was checking out a old Reising that is a class 3 but also a C&R? how does this work? and will I still have to pay the $200 transfer fee?

    Yes you can buy it and yes you still have to pay the $200 transfer fee.

    But what is the process in buying, what forms if any are needed?

    Yes you still fill out all the normal forms and follow all the same rules.

    The difference is that it can be transfered directly to you vs having to go to an FFL.

    I guess I should have said that I read the sticky but was unsure about the C&R side of the transfer I guessing that it could be mailed to my door w/o going to a class 3 dealer.

    Once you have the approved Form 4 in your hands the entire tax issue is over and done with and the firearm in question becomes just another gun. If is is a Curio and Relic it can be shipped directly to you without the need of a licensed firearms dealer. If it is not a C&R firearm then it must first be sent to a dealer who is a Special Occupational Taxpayer (SOT), commonly called a Class 3 dealer, so that he can transfer the firearm to you. Expect to pay a fee for this "service".
