Howa 1500 25-06 Varmint round

Hello, VERY new here but thought I could ask a question regarding ammunition for a Howa 1500 25-06 prior to making trial by error purchases.

I recently purchased and am anticipating delivery of this rifle soon, right jummpy ?

I am intending to use this rifle initially for coyote, etc, and was told an 85-90 gr bullet would be the best selection for this caliber.

As well I was told that rifles may perform better with one perticular brand of ammunition/bullet.

From experience, what ammunition (off the shelf) may perform the best in this rifle?

  "From experience, what ammunition (off the shelf) may perform the best in this rifle?"................your guess is as good as anyone elses, GENERALY you get what you pay for, Federal premium will GENERALY shoot better than Federal classic (the wally world cheap stuff). each rifle is a law unto itself.

  This is just my experience and quite limited. Two 25/06 rifles I have show very good accuracy with Remington 100 PSP ammo. Very different rifles as one is a Savage 110 FP w/heavy barrel and the other is a rebarrel with a thin A&B barrel but both shoot dime size groups with the Remington. This means nothing except it might be a good place to start since your rifle will surely prefer something else. If,by chance, it works for you it will make your ammo cost lower than most of the premium types. I have used this ammo on both deer and coyotes(a couple puttie tats too)and it is adequate for those uses.

  As to what shoots best in your rifle, depends a lot on the twist rate. A faster twist like a 1 turn in 9 inches will favor the heavier 110-120 grain bullets, where the 1 turn in 12 inches will favor the lighter 75-90 grain bullets, and a 1 in 10 will like the 85 to 110 grain bullets better. However, nothing is set in stone, and a 1 in 10 should handle about everything.
  
  I reccommend for off the shelf factory ammo, the Winchester Supreme Ballistic Silvertips, no matter what cartridge the rifle is chambered for. I would say the 85 graineers for your coyotes, and the 115's for deer and antelope.
