Magnafing Glass Question

Happy New Year everybody[^] Any rule of thumb to determine the magnification of a magnafing glass? I'm trying to find out what it might be on one of my existing and it's not marked anywhere. I'm going to buy a new one but need to know what magnafication my existing one is. Thanks

  Look at a tape reasure with it. If 1" looks like 2" then its a 2X and so on.
