A friend of me just purchased a Trooper MKV. The serial no. is 41175V.
Can anyone tell me how old it is??

  i am trying to find out if these revolvers which were only produced from 1982-85 ever came from the factory with rubber finger groove grips.can anyone help?

  I think all MK V revolvers came with factory wood grips. I know my
  MK V did, but rubber grips from the Peacekeeper and other similiar guns will fit it.
  
  The factory Colt grips are getting expensive. I expect the next MK V revolver I see for sale will wear replacement grips.

  With all due respect to wpage, the REAL source is not the current Colt Company (which will not be able to tell you anything except a possible year of manufacture), but is the "Colt Forum." The Colt Forum is the best source for all things Colt.

  To answer your initial question, wood stocks are the standard stocks on all Mark V Troopers.
