weld on old winchester 97

have an old winchester mod 1897 12 ga.it has a 2 barrel set.the 20 inch has a crack on the reciver extenson where the slide rail goes through it.what kind of weld should i use to fix it.im thinking tig weld it.its a field gun so no real collector value.

  Your probably gonna have a hard time getting an answer for this, its a "spooky" question for someone to answer.

  you are right its the barrel extenson. it wont hurt to tig it will it ?
