M94 44Mag-440Corbon conversion

Does anyone have any input or information about my idea to convert a M94 44Mag to 440Corbon?

  The 440 Corbon is a necked down 50 Action express cartridge, i.e. bottle neck, whereas the 44 mag isn't. Besides rechambering the barrel internal mods to the mechanism of the Model 94 will have to be done to feed a cartridge with a larger base and rim diameter that is rimless. You should get together with a very competent gunsmith to discuss this to see if it's possible and if the cost is reasonable.
  
  Have to say this was done 40+ years ago to beef up the 44 mag. It's called the 444 Marlin.

  I am not sure the 92/94 frames will handle the higher pressures. The 440 Cor-Bon I believe runs at the same pressures that the 50 AE does. If I am not mistaken, that is 10-15K PSIG more than the 44 Remington Magnum.
  
  That said, you will only need to modify your elevator, and chamber. The bolt, extractor, and ejector, should be just fine, as the 50 AE, and 440 Cor-Bon, are a rebated rim design, and have the same size rim as the 44 Remington Magnum.
