These are really good rifles built on a Russian manufactured AK action. They are very reliable and while not tack drivers, they are quite capable of deer hunting or self-defense accuracy. With a scope mounted, I usually get 3 shot groups of about 2.5-3 inches at 100 yards with good quality ammo. I have only fired 7.62x51 NATO Spec. ammo in mine, but it should shoot .308 just as well. I see these for sale occasionally in about 98% condition for $500-600 dollars. I haven't seen any new ones for sale recently. They are a little heavy but no worse than a FAL. Extra factory 8 round magazines are a bit expensive but work really well. Overall I am very pleased with my Saiga. I have had it about 5 years and don't plan on ever selling it. Hopefully someday, I will convert it to look like the vintage AK's with a pistol grip stock, shorter barrel with flash hider and high cap mag, but right now it's fine as it is. I'd rate it 4.5 stars out of 5. 0
