Pistol or rifle?
Pistol wise, check the Bersa, and believe it or not the Phoenix HP-22. I don't like the crazy safety set up on the HP-22, but mine never had issues w/ firing. Don't know if any of the 1911 22s are available in a commander/officer size. Beretta and Taurus make a small 22 version as well.
Rifle wise, the Ruger CRR, and just about every one else make a youth size/model.0 -

I like the little Walther P22 althought don't know if it qualifies as a "compact." Pretty small in my book compared to my other .22's and it is a little tackdriver with a laser sight. A hoot to shoot! 0 -

The new Browning is about Commander size. They made it smaller for some reason.
