smith and wesson
Looking for the model number on a smith and wesson under the cylinder and the number doesn't match any model number I can find. 694 no dashes and a B stamped near what am I missing.

The 694 might be an assembly number or you have a 696 .44 Spl 5-shot. 0 -

It's not unheard of for S&W to screw up their model stampings.
I'd suggest posting a full description - with pics if possible - to help either decipher or correctly identify it.0 -

Aint that the truth. Yesterday I was looking at an 8" Smith model 14, blued, stamped .38 Spl on the barrel, no extractor shroud with the frame clearly stamped 19-4.0 -

The threads may be the same, but the barrels are not. The model 19 barrels have the ejector rod housings, the .38 model 14 barrels dont. 0
