Help with Info regarding Colt 1911's

I have seen Colt 1911's listed in various places that are described as having been delivered on a specific day. I think that information may be in Closson's book. Would someone be able to look up that info and give me the range of serial numbers that were delivered on October 16, 1917? Thanks

  There is some information in Charles Clawson's book. I suspect that Perry Shooter will be able to answer your question definitively[^].

  Hello serial number 187201-187700 were shipped to Springfield Armory on October 16/1917 from information in William Goddard's book I have found his information to be Trustworthy "PRAISE THE HARD-BALL GUN"

  Thank you very much for the information. I purchased one that was supposed to have been shipped on that date and was under the impression that it was a small lot. But since that original purchase I have seen a couple of more listed in various spots with serial numbers that were a couple thousand in one direction or another. I will get a copy of the book you mention for future use. Thank you again.
