Removing/Replacing M1 Carbine Stock

I own an Underwood M1 carbine and just bought a new DCM replacement stock. Can anyone direct me to a site that will give me step-by-step directions for removing the current stock and replacing it with the DCM item? I could probably bumble my way through, but would rather do it right and not break something along the way. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  Pretty simple.
  
  1. Loosen the screw on the barrel band using a left handed screw driver
  
  2. Push the metal spring near the tip of the stock and push the barrel band forward
  
  3. On top and to the rear of the action is a machine screw/bolt. Remove it with a right handed screwdriver.
  
  You should be able to lift the front of the barrel up and slide the barreled action forward and out.
  
  Since your replacing the stock:
  
  1. Remove the recoil lug that you removed the bolt from.
  
  2. Insert the bolt through the hole it goes through, screw it a couple of turns into the "nut" in the bottom of the stock, and gently tap the the bolt head with a mallet, small brass hammer, or a piece of wood.
  
  3. Remove the "nut" and remove the bolt from the stock.
  
  4. Locate the small hole on the left side of forend. Insert a pin punch in the hole and tap the punch with a hammer until the spring that held the barrel band in place is loose. A nail can also be used. Wiggle the spring loose using a pair of ambidexterous pliers if needed.
  
  5. Remove the screw from the butt plate and pry the butt plate off, if needed, with a government issued butt plate removal and installation tool.
  
  Clean up the parts and action, reverse the above using the new stock and you're done.

  New CMP stocks come with all metal installed.
  
  All you have to do is loosen the barrel band screw, slide the band forward, & lift up on the front of the barrel until the lug on the back of the receiver clears the recoil plate. Only LOOSEN the barrel band screw part way; the end of the screw is staked to keep it from being completely removed.

  Get some good instructioins and IGNORE victor's [xx(]
  As you are ordering a CMP stock, get #712 The M1 Carbine Owners Guide--$19.95 Well worth it.
  There is a adjustment on the recoil screw to put slight pressure on the action so the stock won't crack.
  Hie left and right hand screw drivers should tell you a lot about him [B)]
